Thank you for joining Washington National Cathedral for this Easter celebration.
Jesus embodied God’s unstoppable love so completely that he became a threat to nearly everyone around him, and he was hung on a cross for refusing to compromise or set limits on that love. Today the church proclaims that death was not the last word for him, that God raised him to new life, and in doing that has opened the possibility of healing and hope for everyone.
For more than a century, Washington National Cathedral has served as a gathering place and symbol of faith during times of national celebration, reflection, and mourning. Hosting important events like this is not just our honor, we consider it our calling as we seek to fulfill our mission to be a spiritual home for the nation.
